About my first Baby Koi

Question
I have a 3500 or more gallon pond about 4 - 41/2 ft deep with 14 imported koi fish ranging in size from 12" to 20" or so.  I had the pond for 3 yrs and is about 15x21 with many floating & grass plants this is the first year of babys 4 in my view.  should i remove them i have a smaller emergency pond & a 100 gal fish tank.  i am worried but my husband say they will be fine.  what would you do?

Answer
Hi,
If they are in a pond with plants and plenty of cover some will survive BUT the koi will eat the eggs and the fry given a chance even the small fry will eat any fry that are smaller than them so if I where you I would net some of the fry out and put them in a tank ( baby fish are called fry)
you can if you wish visit my pond and Japanese garden at http://koi-z-are-us.20m.com
George.
