QUESTION: approx. 400 gallons

Answer
Hi Warren

Let me give you an example of an unaerated pond.

First you calculate the surface area of a pond.
The surface area is calculated by multiplying the length by the width.
Lets say, 3x5 meters equals 15 square meters, or, 162 square feet.
A recommended rate for stocking an underacted pond is 4.5 square feet for every 12 inches of fish body, not including the tail.

Using this figure then the pond in question will have the following calculation:
15 square meters divided by 0.42 square meter= exactly 30 centimeter of koi body length, or 35 feet.
If it is assumed that the average mean size of the koi will be in order of 45 centimeters (18 in.) then the pond can hold 23 koi or thereabouts.
These can range from 6 to 30 inches.
It is a number that could be increased by aeration

There are many suppliers of filters and pumps available on the market.
Try www.aquascapedesigns.com
I have been using their products and I think they are one of the best.

Good Luck and keep in touch!
