PROTECTION WHEN KOI POND PUMP FAILS

Question
A GOOD FRIEND RECENTLY LOST MOST OF HER KOI FISH AFTER MAINTENANCE WORKERS OVERLOADED THE POWER SOURCE TO THE PUMP WITHOUT TELLING THE OWNER.
I WANT TO ATTACH A SIMPLE VOLTAGE LOSS DETECTION CIRCUIT TO THE BREAKER OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO THE PUMP. THIS RELAY WOULD CLOSE IF VOLTAGE GOES OFF AND THEN TURN ON ANOTHER CIRCUIT THAT WOULD ACTIVATE A SIREN ALARM.
DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER WAY TO PREVENT THE LOSS OF FISH IN THE EVENT THAT THE CIRCULATION PUMP IS TURNED OFF.??

Answer
Hi Leo,

You could have a secondary, independent pump system.
It doesn't need to be sophisticated. The same system that activate the alarm could activate a well hidden sump pump
with a pipe gushing the water up; just to aerate it.
That would give you enough time to fix the problem.

Good Luck!
