Venus flytrap is turning black.

Question
I have had this flytrap for 3 years. It started budding. The first bud and stem turned black and started wilting. So i trimmed it off. Shortly after that, a new bug began growing. I live in Atlanta, GA and I provide 7 to 8 hours of direct sunlight. The second bud is starting to turn black on the edges. Some of the other traps are also starting to turn black. Why is it dying?

Answer
Do you have it in an enclosed container?  It is most likely due to a lack of humidity.  Another reason could be that the tap water is killing it.  Use only distilled water on these plants.

If I can help further please let me know.

Happy Growing
Kristina
