I planted 2 bare rose bushes about 3 weeks ago. I haven't seen any leafs coming out yet and the branches are brown.  How long should I give it before giving up on them? I am watering diligently.

Hi Nancy-

I'm sorry but I have had limited luck with bare root rose bushes.  Did you soak them in water for 3-24 hours before you planted them?  That is key. One thing retailers don't tell you is they butcher the roots of a bareroot rose so it will fit into a little package for shipping or sale. If they don't leaf out in another two weeks, take the receipt and dig them up and return them to the retailer to get your money back.  Use that money to buy a rose in a container.
