pruning hibiscus

Question
How do I prune my hibiscus and when.  They have gotten too high.  right now I have blooms on them.  could you please also send me the article on fertelize. household plants .  Thanks Sally

Answer
Hi Sally,

You can prune your hibiscus now, but then you would be removing all of the flowers. So I suggest that you delay pruning until the flowers are finished.

The stems can be cut back to any height - new growth will emerge on the stems just below the pruning cut and grow upward from there. It is generally better to prune back more rather than less so there is lots of room to grow in.

Please send me your email address so I can send you my fertilizer article.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
