Janet Craig Dracaena

Question
Hi Mr. Creed,
The tips of my plant are turning black.  Could you tell me the cause and how to correct the problem.  Thank you very much.

Answer
Hi there,

If the tips are turning black that is usually caused by keeping to soil too moist. Exposure to cold temperatures can also cause black tipping.

If you repotted your 'Janet Craig,' then the extra soil you added is probably keeping the roots too moist for too long. If so, undo the repotting and replant it back into its original pot. Otherwise, allow the top quarter of the soil to dry out in between thorough waterings.

Avoid exposing your 'Janet Craig' to temps below 60 degrees F.

I have written an article on 'Janet Craig' care that I will email for free to you (or anyone else) who sends a request to me at [email protected].

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
