Can a Venus Flytrap be fully submerged in water

Question
Hi allexperts,

I have heard that if a Venus Flytrap is fully submerged in water it can survive up to certain time. Is this true, that they can survive a time under water?   Basically can a venus Flytrap survive fully submerged in water?

Answer
Hi Weylin,

They can be submerged for short periods; 24 hours for example to kill aphids, but long term it will kill the plant.  Venus flytraps actually like being a little higher out of the water than plants like Sarracenia do.

Good Growing!
