no lids

Question
i am kind of concerned with my nepenthes ventricosa. he is a decent size and is making pitchers but the pitchers are kind of disformed. the lids grow very small compared to the pitcher and then the lid dies and the pitcher with it.  i flush its soil every other day with pure water and it gets about 11 hours of sunlight everyday. im just not sure whats wrong with the pitchers

Answer
Hi Chris,

This isn't unusual at all.  Especially when the plant first starts making new pitchers after a period of having none, it often has funky lids.  N. ventricosa pitchers tend to live about a month.  Your care of the plant sounds fine.  Just give it time.

Good Growing!
