QuestionI've read to avoid Cygon or De-Fend to treat tea scale on a burford holly, but what CAN I use and am I stuck until fall to treat again? I sprayed something I thought was ok (can't recall now) in March but here in June in Virginia the bushes are still in bad shape again. I sprayed the same product I had from March last week even though I think the timing is off because I'm nervous the bushes are doing to completely die. Please advise on a course of action...
AnswerHi, Jen How ru? Treat holly With a spray from Homedepot/lowes etc with the active chemical PERMETHIN! This will get it under control at this stage.ORTHO BUG B GON will work fine!!Also treat with a complete fertilizer like 20/10/10 N/P/k # to help promote new growth n recover from damage!!GOOD LUCK!!KEEP ME POSTED!!!!!!
