Moles/Gophers, theyre everywhere

Question
Thank you for volunteering. I'm going nuts. I have moles or gphers in my back yard and they seem to be everywhere. I've tried baits that go into their air holes with no success. About a month ago I purchased two of those sonic, battery operated gizmos and they seem to love them. I have tunnels everywhere and have a hard time figuring out which ones are new and which ones have been there. HELP!!

Answer
Gophers

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, I am not exactly sure what you mean by gophers because in different parts of the country, gopher can mean moles, pocket gophers, or one of the several ground squirrel species. I can't really provide much advice as I am unclear as to what species you are referring to. You see gopher means different things to different people in different parts of the country.

So let me try to direct you to information on all three.
For mole control info visit  http://icwdm.org/handbook/mammals/Moles.asp  and http://icwdm.org/wildlife/mole.asp

If you mean pocket gophers visit http://icwdm.org/wildlife/pocketgopher.asp and http://icwdm.org/handbook/rodents/PocketGophers.asp

If you mean ground squirrel then you have several options
13 lined ground squirrel  http://icwdm.org/handbook/rodents/13linedgroundsquirrel.asp
Woodchuck   http://icwdm.org/handbook/rodents/Woodchucks.asp
California ground squirrel  http://icwdm.org/handbook/rodents/FranklinSquirrels.asp
