Cascading Vines

Question
I have a 4 foot retainer wall at the base of a steep hillside covered in mature acacia shrubs. There is a 3 foot section of dirt between the acacia and the wall that I would like to plant a cascading vine or flower of some sort that will tumble naturally downward and not upward towards the acacia. We live in Southern California with hot dry summers and its in full morning sun. The retainer wall is a split face gray. Need some ideas. Nothing invasive or something that would grow every which way but down.
