POWDERY MILDEW

Question
POWDERY MILDEW ON SQUASH LEAVES & STEMS.  WILL NEEM OIL GET RID OF IT OR SHOULD I JUST RETURN THE PLANT TO THE NURSERY?  I CUT OFF ALL THE LEAVES AFFECTED, THEN I NOTED THAT THE THE STEM ALSO HAD THE MILDEW.  I WAS JUST ABOUT TO PLANT.  I'M IN N. CAL.  SAC. TO BE EXACT, AND WE'VE HAD CONTINUAL RAIN LATELY. THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN SEND ME THROUGH MY E-MAIL  KATE

Sorry I can't answer this via email - AllExperts does not pass that information on to me.

If you bought the plant that way then definitely return it, don't try to save it. Baking soda in water (1 T/gallon) is a good cure/preventative, but the plant may be stunted by the disease, so if you can return it that is the better option.
