trees by pool

Question
Can we plant a Sissoo tree 10' from our pool with out worring about root damage to our pool.

Answer
The Dahlbergia Sissoo tree will grow to 30 to 50 feet high and 20 to 30 feet wide when mature. If you plant it 10 feet from the edge of the pool, and it grows to 30 feet wide, that could mean there is 5 feet that is over your pool, and the roots will grow in the range of the edge of the limb spread. That means 5 feet of roots damaging your pool.
I hope this gives you a formula to figure out the answer to your question. This is a good tree near a pool because it is considered clean, with low debris. This is important to look for near a pool. But, you might look at the area to see if you can move it farther away from the pool, to give it plenty of room to grow.
