The Story of a Paving Stone Installation

The first step in having a paving stone driveway, patio, pool deck or walkway job done, is to get a free estimate from the contractor. There are many factors that the designers from Pacific Outdoor Living consider when giving you a paving stone installation estimate. These include such things as the size of the area where you want paving stones installed, the type of stones you'd like, the color and pattern you desire, and the current conditions of the area to be paved.

On average, the crews from Pacific Outdoor Living can install about 400 square feet of paving stones a day. So a 1200 square foot driveway would be about a 3 day job. Each paving stone installation consists of the following steps:

1. Demolition Crew: The first crew to come to your house is the Demolition Crew. They are responsible for tearing out your existing driveway or patio and taking its remains to the dump. They typically will remove 7"- 8" of material. They then bring in a base of about 4" of gravel and do a rough grading of the area.

2. Paving Stone Installers: Our paving stone installers are more than just laborers. They are highly trained stone artisans. You can be confident that the people working at your home are fully trained, and who have a history with us. Our crews remain at the job until the job is done. But don't worry, they do go home at night.

3. Quality Assurance Representatives: After your paving stone installation is complete, a representative from our Quality Assurance crew will contact you to follow-up on the job. This team's entire responsibility is to ensure your complete satisfaction. The job is not done until you are 100% delighted with your new paving stone job. And their service doesn't just end there. If you experience any future problems, they are available to help you. For example, we are the only firm that gives a lifetime warranty on both the materials AND the labor for a paving stone installation. It's not just against cracking; it also covers sagging, shifting, anything that can go wrong.
