Growing Healthy Plants Using Hydroponic Nutrient Solutions

Hydroponics is the perfect solution for the gardener in all of us and the best solution for indoor gardening. Hydroponics means soil-less gardening and it allows growing healthy plants and vegetables without getting your hands dirty from soil. I've recently begun to grow all of my herbs and vegetables using hydroponics nutrients and organic gardening supplies. We've noticed a change in our health for the better already, too.

Hydroponics is not new 21st century way of organic gardening nor is it new technology. Actually, the use of hydroponics nutrients has been used for years on commercial farms. It's only over the past few years that hydroponics has taken off as a form of indoor gardening. There is nothing stopping you from buying an indoor hydroponic kits and getting started today.

There are a number of different ways to grow plants using a hydroponic system. Since soil isn't used, plant nutrients are received through hydroponic nutrient solutions. The hydroponics nutrients can be water, gravel, sand, or vermiculite but no matter what is used; water and its plant nutrients must be able to flow through easily through the medium. The more porous it is, the better your plants will grow.

Here are some points to remember:

No soil is used but fertilization is required - Even though hydroponics gardening does not use soil, your plants still need the proper amount of plant nutrients which they get from water or their food. This is one most important aspects of in hydroponics gardening since hydroponic nutrient solutions sustain the plants. One has to make sure that this hydroponic nutrient solutions maintains a pH level of 5 to 6 after dilution. Your plants must also be watered more than three times a day using organic gardening supplies such as specified pump and timer.

Steady temperature is required - The optimal temperature for an indoor garden is between 71 to 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Of course, this temperature will vary depending on the types of plant you are growing.

Use plenty of lighting – Preferably, you would like to grow your plants somewhere they can receive an ample amount of light. If you have no choice but to set up your indoor garden in an area with insufficient light, I recommend purchasing a High pressure Sodium lights or bulbs, which emit artificial illumination.

Humidity is a necessity - In hydroponics gardening, a little amount of air will do. When the room’s temperature rises, the air will be able to hold the sufficient amount of moisture your plants will need.

Another convenience the hydroponics gardener can enjoy is being able to fully automate this type of gardening system. Since the plant nutrients of your indoor garden is water-based, you really don't need to attend to the plants all that much. The fun thing about indoor hydroponic gardens is you are free to design and build your own system any way you want.
