How To Compliment Your Garden With Solar Dog Lights

If you are a dog lover, you should take the time to look for solar dog lights. Even if you do not have garden lighting, these figurines will stand effectively as a decor on its own. But if you do have garden lights, placing a solar dog light below the steps leading to your front door enhances the interplay between your house lights and your outdoor lights. It is also a charming sight for your visitors and serves to make them feel doubly welcome.

There are many ways to present the figurine

The light of the solar dog is a lantern. This can be made to appear as if it were hanging from the dog's mouth by attaching it to a hook that is located in the area under the mouth. The lantern may be removed during the day time, re-charged and returned to its place when dusk sets in. If you prefer not to hang the lantern, you can simply let it stand beside the dog. It will seem as if the dog had placed it down for its master to pick up. In any case, this piece of decor is a must for any dog-lover to get.

On the other hand, you may use the lantern as a distinct piece of decor away from the dog itself.

You can put the figurine near your front doorway or at the top of the landing. It will also look good at the foot of the stairs. You can even place the figurine under the open sky. Neither rain nor sun will damage it. In fact, it was designed to be placed under bright sunlight, the better to absorb sunlight that is converted into power for the light.

The lamps are as functional as they are decorative. They contain a number of LED lights all working together to provide illumination to the area. The newer models may have even brighter lights. That is because LED technology is improving yearly. It will soon be capable of providing brightness comparable to that of the incandescent bulb.

Make sure that wherever you fix the dog's location, it will receive plenty of sunlight. In this way, you can be sure its lantern will stay on for the whole night.

The different breeds available

If you browse the internet for these solar dogs, you will find figurines shaped and colored like German Shepherds, Dalmatians and Boxers. You may even convince the manufacturer to fashion one for a breed that they are not offering currently. The paints are climate resistant. They are very natural looking and from a distance the dogs seem to be alive.

The statues are not too heavy and can be transported from one location to another in the garden. But they are not light enough for the live dogs in your house to be able to push the dog over its side.

Great decoy to scare prowlers away

Inside the house, solar dogs can also be useful. Position them facing the door or a window. In the dark, the dog will seem to be alive and can scare away burglars at night.
