As the weather has become abruptly cooler we have had many people coming into the shop asking:

“where are the bulbs?”

 

The thing is, we don’t have any bulbs – yet! Even though morning air temperatures are downright crisp and evokes a real feeling of fall, the ground is still nice and warm. Plants are still growing! As we discussed a few weeks ago, right now is a good time to plant new perennials and shrubs because the ground is so warm and the plants have the opportunity to become established in their new home.

If you were to plant bulbs right now they might start growing.

 

Oops. So, we won’t start carrying bulbs in the store until it is totally safe to plant them in your garden. Happily, that time of year is just a few weeks away. You can start looking for a large selection of bulbs at Urban Roots in just a few weeks. Watch this space and we’ll let you know when they arrive!
