Water: One Basic Need In Your Garden

A good water supply is a basic need for your gardening activities, without it, your plants would die a natural death like humans. It is so basic and yet it is sometimes being left out in the priorities so it would make your gardening quite difficult if you have problem on the supply of water. Others devise some alternative in the supply of water and use rain collectors so that their water bill would not be so big and uncontrollable due to the increasing demand for water of plants especially during summer months. Some gardeners are using even unclean water that is polluted especially when the source of water is a problem to them. But we must understand the effect of using waste water.

What is waste water by the way? This type of water is composed of wastes found in industries, in hospitals and homes and other similar establishments that are located in the community and this type of water contains pathogens that causes diseases as well as nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous, including chemicals found in cleansers, disinfectants, food scraps, soap, oil, human waste and other dangerous substances.

But there is a clean source of water also unlike waste water and this water comes from the rain. Rain is considered as the most pure of all types of water, however when it flows down the streets, it is definitely not clean anymore as it flows and runs through its ways, it carries impurities picked up along the way, there are parasites, and all the other waste products then move on to the rivers and lakes and down to the seas, making these bodies of water even more contaminated.

These polluted waters could be treated and make them pure again and the treatment of waste water is very important as how water is important for the survival of human, the whole marine and plant life are all dependent upon clean water for their survival. In order to save marine life, the environmental preservation must be a priority and even our health, water treatment is very urgent and since polluted water would bring diverse kinds of diseases, these would bring a domino effect on the plants and animals we are eating that would eventually be infected with these diseases and we shall subsequently suffer in the end. It is so important that if we can not solve this waste and contaminated water and treat them, the entire population would be greatly affected.

If we ignore water filtration today, one day we will see the bacteria is already on the glass of water we are about to take. Shall we act only after we have seen the bacteria in our drinking glass? We must start the filtration today before it's too late to act on the matter. The rapid increase in our industrialization has brought down the fresh water level and numerous types of diseases are coming into our surprises. There are climate changes that we can do nothing about it with unbalanced water supply as we see too much flooding in one area and less water in some areas. Today, we must be wary of using water and conserve it as it is a life giver and there is no substitute for water, so we must do our very best to save it for our future use and conservation. The water you conserve daily could be your plants daily need to survive like you.
