Fortunately you can put your pond almost anywhere in your yard. One of the requirements that you may have in locating the pond will depend on what kind of freshwater pond fish you buy. Also, you do not want to have a lot of debris falling into the pond. Locating it away from trees that shed a lot of leaves will cut your pond care time down significantly. Locating you pond will also depend on what kind of pond you are going to have. If you want a pond with Koi then you probably will want a shady spot that does not receive direct sunlight. But you have to be careful of the trees around it also. If you are going to have a lot of water plants then you probably will want a place that receives some sunlight during the day so that the place can flourish.
