stauntonia hexaphylla

Question
I bought 2 of these plants last year and have planted so they grow over a pergola. They have grown at a terrific rate (8ft in fisrt few months) but no flowers! this is the main reason for having them. Have I let them grow too much? or will they not flower in the first year? Is there a feed they should have or is the soil wrong.

Answer
hi Sheila
these plants require a male and female specimen to produce flowers and fruits. it is possible you have to same sex plants. they are difficult to determine sex so consult with a nursery specialist to determine the correct sex.
