Re: nobile fir

Question
Original Post: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Seeding-Propagation-733/noble-fir.htm

As a follow up question... Is it possible to try and maintain this tree at a certain height? For instance, the tree grows to 4ft tall and I want to keep it that. Can I simply keep it in it's current pot?

Regards,
K. Kwan

Answer
Hi K. Kwan,
Thanx for your question.  You can miniaturize the tree by continuing to cut off the growing point.  Don't allow it to grow tall.  It will bush out.  It's kind of like bonzai on a larger scale.  You will have to keep it in a large pot and every three to five years you will have to remove the tree and trim back the roots like the bonzai fanciers do.  This is how you keep the tree small.  I hope this helps.
