growing plants from seed


Question
Is there a pamplet or a bood that tells you everything you need to know how to do this. Example. What is a normal success rate from [planting seeds to flowers,
what temperatures need to be maintained.Theyhave these answers in books that i have read. but they never get specific for each plant. for example I just planted some hollyhock seeds about 40 and I only got 1 to grow. I poanted pansy 40 seeds and about 25 came

Hi Leon,
Thanx for your question.  There are a lot of resources on the Internet.  You can do a Google search (Google.com) and type in e.g.  Pansy Seed Germination (many sites will come up with all kinds of info) or Hollyhock seed germination.  You can also go to the public library and look in the 600s, there should be some good references for germination of all kinds of seeds.  You can also go to B. Dalton or Barnes and Noble and look in the gardening section of books and you will find a number of seed starting references.  I hope this helps.
