pregnant onion toxic to other plants?

Question
I brought in my new pregnant onion plant for the winter and set it on the shelf with my 15 year old peace lily.  I just noticed that a MASS amount of the leaves on the lily have shriveled up and turn brown, mainly where the plant leaves were touching the pregnant onion.  Could the onion plant be killing my lily???  If so do you think my lily will survive?

Answer
Hi Laurie,
It very well could be that the pregnant onion plant is the cause of the problem with your Peace lily.
Separate the plants and give your peace lily some extra TLC.
Make sure your peace lily has enough humidity. Putting a tray filled with pebbles and about half filled with water under the plant will help raise the humidity around the plant. Cut back on watering your peace lily and keep it out of direct sunlight until it is healthy again.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy
