spider plant URGENT!!!!!!!!

Question
hi darlene i have a spider plant and seems to be starting to mature with a white stripe going down the middle of the leaves and i was wondering is this a variegated or non variegated plant  and does it need a south or north window. could i grow this plant on my south facing patio {it has a roof on top of it and is covered on two sides } so its basically built into the back of my house.which would be the best place to put my spider plant i also have a north facing patio or porch as well . and its summer time now and would the temperatures be to hot for the plant ?

Answer
Isaiah,

Spider plants generally don't change colors as they mature. But maybe you just didn't realize earlier that it had this stripe. There are 3 varieties of spiders, a solid green one, one that is green in the center and cream on the outside and one that is cream in the center and green on the outside. Only the solid green one is not variegated. The other 22 are. The one that is cream in the center and green on the outside which is what you have is the slowest growing and rarest one because it grows so slow. Heat is not a problem for this plant. They do not mind heat but do need watered daily when it is above 90 degrees. They do love the sun and like full sun all day long. The more sun you can give them the more it will grow. Also fertilize it regularly. When they are growing well they love lots of fertilizer. Use your favorite brand and feed it according to the instructions on the fertilizer box. Good luck!
