Little green parasite/bugs on my plant.

Question
Hi there

Have a Venus Fly Trap for over 2 years now and have noticed that during the "dormant" phase, December and January there are fine green bugs attached to the main stem, I just wanted to know, are they parasitic? Do I have to remove them for safety of the plant?

Im using the specialised carnivorous plant soil, the only one that gets sold here in my part of Germany. I also own a Pitcher plant, which has grown very big but I've never seen those little bugs on it.

Thants for taking the time reading my question!

Answer
Hi Mornay,

Those insects sound like aphids.  Usually you can tell by any new foliage coming out twisted and deformed.  You will want to remove them if that's what they are.  If the insects don't seem to be causing any damage, they may not be a problem.  Do you have a photo of them you could send?

Good Growing!
