Question

Sarracenia and Drosera
Hi. What type of S. rubra and sundews are in the picture? Also what are the little plants in the bottom left picture? I just got them from a nursery that got them from a nursery in Georgia. Last question. When do you move Sarracenia and Dionaea seedlings from partial to full sun?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi Preston,

The little sundew is Drosera burmanii.  The bigger one is wide-leaf Drosera capensis.  The Sarracenia looks like S. rubra alabamensis.  It could be S. rubra wherryi also, but alabamensis is far more common in the nursery trade.  It was kind of hard to tell in the condition it was in.

If your seedlings are about an inch tall you can move them to full sun.  Just be conscientious of very hot days or heavy rain.

Good Growing!
