wilting funeral spray

Question
Gina..I am excited to find your website...I am very interested as to how I can improve my designer skills. Would you suggest a hands on class and if so where might I find such a class? Also...I would like to design from home
instead of a store front. Do you have any tips? As for the funeral spray. It was for my grandfathers funeral..Oasis floral foam...a cross...I used red carnations..hypericum, huckleberry...and red roses...I did not go to the funeral today...dropped it off at the funeral home yesterday at 4:00pm...today my mother said at noon they were wilting (yikes)...What do you think has happened?

Thank You,
Windy

Answer
Windy, I am sorry about your grandfather.  I believe what happened was the oasis dried out.  Oasis usually is in a conatiner so it gets a feed of water.  When you are doing crosses or other uprights, the Oasis dries faster.  I will wrap the oasis in plastic first to try to keep it wet with sprays like that.  You might also want to mist the flowers with water.  Try contacting your local garden club for classes, those will help a great deal!
