Large glass cangleholder with arrangement on top

Question

Candle Holder
Hello!! I'm making the centerpieces for my wedding and I'm using a 22" heavy glass candle holder with a 3 inch opening (the largest one in the pic attached). I want to do a large round arrangement on top maybe using carnations. Which floral foam should I use? How long in advance can I make the arrangement? How can I attach it to the holder? And roughly how many carnations would I need to make a large arrangement like that? Sorry for so many questions, but I want to make sure it looks professional even though I'm no expert...lol...Thanks in advance!!

Answer
Hi Lisette,

For starters, you'll need to afix a design bowl of some kind with wet foam (Oasis) taped in.  To do that, my preferred method is to use floral putty around the perimeter of the opening to secure the bowl.

Make sure you use WET foam, and I really do think that the Oasis brand is best.

I can't tell you how many carnations without knowing how big you want the design to be... but I can tell you that you should really count on no less than 18 each if you want them tight and full.
