Wedding Centerpieces

Question
Hello,

I am planning my wedding for November 5, 2011. I want to do fresh flower centerpieces due to the cost efficiency. However, I am trying to figure out how many flowers to purchase. I found an inexpensive website-globalrose.com and would like to order from them.

I am going to use 7 1/2 inch tall vases with a 3 1/4 inch diameter. I will need 14 centerpieces. I am not sure of what type of flower. I am thinking carnations since they are the cheapest. Would you be able to tell me about how many carnations I would need? Also, I am considering roses (depending on how many I would need and the cost). Would you also be able to tell me how many roses? Or how many of each if I wanted to do a combo of the two flowers?

Thanks you!!

Answer
Hi Michelle,
This depends on how big you want your centerpieces. Some of our clients want them
low so they can see over the table and talk and some want them towering high! I would
go to the  market and see what is available at the cost you can afford. Always go with
three, five, seven, focal flowers and add filler. Carnations are not always the cheapest
so look and see the availablity.  Find a sales person who can help you and if the first one
doesnt keep on looking!
