Answer
Hi Brenda, It is nice to hear from Rob's friend. I regret that I am not answering questions right now, because my computer is down. I should have it working soon, and I will give your question a thoughtful answer.
Thank you for your patience.

Hi Brenda, I have my new computer up and running and I am ready to try to answer your question. It would be helpful to know what variety of lime you have. There are several differant ones. I have an orange and a lemon tree that I grow in my greenhouse all year. When I had them out side in the sun, I noticed that they dropped their fruit just like you discribed. Since they have been in the greenhouse I haven't had that problem. They like at least 6 hours of sun a day for best fruit production. They need well-drained moist soil. If the leaves turn yellow, you may be giving it too much water. Check the soil before you water to see if it is dry enough to water. Fertilize in the winter with a high nitrogen and potassium fertilizer. Limes grow well in pots. Once they reach full size, prune back the roots and shoots every winter. Be sure to give it protection from the heat and the cold. If it is still a young tree, you may need to wait until it matures a little more before it starts setting and keeping the fruit. I hope I have helped you. Say hi to Rob for me. Take care.
