Q: I have Leyland cypress trees, most of which have small sticky bags all over them. What are they and what do I do?

A: They’re spittlebug nymphs. These creatures suck sap from their host and exude a frothy spittle, which protects them from predators.

An easy solution to the problem is to blast them off the trees with a water hose.
