Tips To Writing A Great Blog About Gardening

The internet boats over a billion users online at any given time. With thousands more signing up each day, you can easily see how the medium of the internet is becoming a huge source to pass along information to a lot of people very quickly.

If you are like me and have a love for gardening then you should consider passing along your knowledge through a blog. Blogging has become extremely popular over the past 5 years. Blogging is when you write something that others around the world can read through a pre-made website called a blog.

You can set up free blogs on websites such as Blogger, Live Journal or Wordpress so you don’t even have to pay any money for it, which is another reason why starting blogs are so popular.

In this article I give you a series of tips that can help you get your gardening blog off the ground and hopefully make it flourish with many visitors who are interested in what you have to say.

Writ About What You Like
One thing is true about all blogs and that is to write about you like and write from the heart. I specifically enjoy vegetable gardening. Although I like growing trees, shrubs and flowers, I have a passion for vegetables and therefore my blog would surround this topic. You may enjoy herb gardening, or growing fruit. Whatever you really enjoy about gardening should be the basis of your blog. Now that does not mean you can never write about another form of gardening, but I find if you write about what you love, the people will follow.

Make it Fun
Blogging about gardening is meant to be fun. If you are stressed because you can’t think of something to write, or that you are only writing small snippets of information once in a while, that is ok. Your gardening blog should be a place where not only others go to learn something, but also where you go to express yourself. Some days it could be a sentence or two and others it could be paragraphs. Remember this is your blog on gardening and you get the final say as to what gets post.

Read Other Gardening Blogs
One thing I can’t stress enough to fellow gardening bloggers is to go ahead and read the blogs of your fellow gardener. They are passionate about the same subject as you and what better way to learn from them and have them learn about you is for you to read what they wrote and comment on their articles and they will be sure to do the same for you.

Review and Educate
Once in a while you should post personal reviews of gardening products you have used or information you have come across. Fellow gardeners love to learn about their hobby, so anytime you can give them information they can use in their own gardens, will go a long way.

Concentrate on Experience
To go along with the previous tip you should not only pass along your writings about gardening products but also your own experience in gardening. Pass along any tips that would help a fellow gardener out that you have found makes things easier for you. That sort of thing.

Stay Positive
Remember gardening itself is a relaxing activity and that sense of feeling should be portrayed in your blog writings. Keep your posts positive as well as comments you leave at other gardening blogs. We all have our own techniques when it comes to gardening, so that last thing another gardener wants to hear is a rude response such as that is a stupid way to make compost or why in the world would you ever aerate your soil that way. As you can see those comments come off as being very negative.

Blogging about gardening can be fun and rewarding. You get to pass your gardening knowledge along to possibly millions of others who enjoy the same hobby as you. Just follow these tips and you can be well on your way to a great gardening blog.
