Why Use Led Grow Light For Indoor Gardening

There's a fairly recent development in indoor garden lighting with LED grow light. This type of grow light uses the power of tiny LED lights, combined and configured, to be able to produce indoor light that's perfectly suited for growing hydroponic plants. There are many other types of grow lights for indoor gardening but there are several benefits for LED lights that top the others.

During the seed germination process, it's important that different types of seeds must benefit from the application of the suitable grow light. Seeds such as lettuce, mullein and evening primrose should have enough light to be able to germinate properly. Once they are planted by means of organic gardening, they rely on the natural light. Once they are grown indoors, gardeners should apply the proper amount of light that they need. This is where LED grow light can serve its purpose. It does not only offer the bright light but also helps maintain cooler soil and air temperature for germination to take place particularly in the case of lettuce. It doesn't produce any heat that could be dangerous in the growth of hydroponic plants. With this, you have easier control of the soil and air temperature to be able to achieve the best germination rate for your seeds. Also, there is no need for fans and vents that are commonly used with other kinds of grow lights.

LED grow light is gaining popularity with indoor gardening use because of producing a bright light. Compared to other common grow lights such as high pressure sodium (HPS) lights, it puts out a much more intense light than the standard 400 watt HPS bulb. This is important to ensure that seeds will obtain the appropriate bright light while they're growing. Without this bright light, they'll have a weak development resulting to spindly stems as they struggle to reach the only little light available in the growing environment.

In order for the hydroponic plants to grow properly using LED grow light, it is important that you have a clear understanding of the basics in color temperature and how each color applies to plant growth stages. Color temperatures are measured in Kelvins (K). Red and orange colors have lower temperatures ranging from 2200-2300K but are seen as warm colors. They are needed for flower and fruit development. Blue color with temperature that ranges in between 6000-6500K is seen as cool colors and is suitable for vegetative growth. What you will need is a higher color temperature for your seedlings while lower color temperature is excellent for your mature plants so they're able to produce flowers and fruits for food production.

LED grow light lets you adjust the light spectrum necessary by your hydroponic plants making it the ideal grow light for the different phases of growth. It helps you save money since there's no wasted light spectrum such as green light. It uses much less power than other grow lights while creating less pollution also. It is an effective grow light because it's sturdy with a longer life span of 80,000 or more useful hours.
