Once again we will be setting out from Urban Roots for a “Secret Garden Tour” at Ancestral Acres farm.  Ancestral Acres is a beautiful farm where Bill grows the unusual pumpkins, squashes and gourds that we sell at Urban Roots in the fall.  Bill and Martha also grow fields of flowers and greens, which are then hung from the rafters of the barn and dried to be sold in bunches, or used in Martha’s beautiful floral art creations.  If you’re interested in a drive to the country with congenial company and an opportunity to see this unique and lovely farm, we urge you to join us. We had a great time last year!  And if we are lucky, Martha may have some of her bouquets, wreaths, and other creations on sale, too.

We will go in a car caravan leaving Urban Roots at 12 noon on Sunday, September 19.  We ask all participants to arrive at UR at 11:30 am, and plan on returning around 4 – 5:00 pm.  This is a members-only event and we ask you to sign up ahead of time so that the trip (about 1 hour from Urban Roots) can be well-planned and go smoothly for all involved.  To sign up, call the store at 362-8982 or go to [email protected].
